Composition, Effects, and Benefits

  • Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid that has synthetic detergent properties used to solubilize fats.
  • After entering adipocytes, Deoxycholic acid helps in the release of phosphatidic acid.
  • This causes emulsification & ultimately hydrolysis of fat cell cytoplasm & triglycerides.
  • The emulsification effect causes inflammatory necrosis of fat.
  • This causes a reduction in the amount of fat present in the submental area.
