Composition, Effects and Benefits

  • Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid which have synthetic detergent properties used to solubilize fats
  • This causes emulsification & ultimately hydrolysis of fat cell cytoplasm & triglycerides
  • This causes reduction in amount of fat present in submental area
  • After entering adipocytes, Deoxycholic acid helps in release of phosphatidic acid
  • The emulsification effect causes an inflammatory necrosis of fat
